Thanks to our local MP Chris Grayling, MERU’s Bugzi wheelchair has been included on the Made By Britain website.
In 1851 Prince Albert instigated the Great Exhibition to showcase of best of British manufacturing. Now the Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group and the 1851 Royal Commission are creating an online exhibition, drawing up a diverse and comprehensive picture of contemporary British industry, to celebrate and showcase British manufacturing and to show that Britain is a world leader when it comes to ideas.
Each Member of Parliament has been asked to nominate a product manufactured in their constituency and following a visit to MERU on 4th April, RT Hon Chris Grayling MP has nominated the truly innovative MERU Bugzi, our award-winning indoor powered wheelchair for children aged one to six. Bugzi offers a unique opportunity for pre-school children with disabilities to experience independent mobility, often for the first time in their lives.
“It’s great. It’s a really innovative idea that can make a real difference to the lives of young, disabled children, by giving them a good time and preparing them for the more sophisticated mobility challenge of an electric wheelchair. I can imagine able-bodied siblings wanting to have a go too.” Chris Grayling
