The World of Difference UK Programme gives 500 people the chance to donate themselves to a UK charity of their choice, and get paid – either full-time for two months or part-time for four.

MERU was lucky enough to be the chosen charity of Edward Tetbury who, during the months of March and April is undertaking an Archive Project to help MERU to celebrate our 40th Anniversary year.

This year is forty years since MERU officially came into being making medical equipment and aids for disabled children. As part of the preparations for celebrations, starting in July, MERU is delving into the past and revisiting the work it has done since its official opening in 1973.  Ed will be archiving old photos, slides, films, news articles that have been collected over the last forty years detailing MERU’s work and producing an exhibition ready for the open day in July. If you are an ex-volunteer, staff, clients or other professionals who has worked with with MERU, then we would love to hear your stories!

On Tuesday 16th April between 11am – 3pm we’ll be holding a 1-day workshop displaying some of the archive materials, along with discussions, focus groups and interviews, which will give everyone involved with MERU an opportunity to add to this project. We hope you can come along. Please contact us on 01372 725 203 or email [email protected]  to register your interest or for more details.
