Description

The low profile switch joystick

Moozi is simple to position on a tray or table, using Velcro™ or a non-slip mat. It has a smooth, light sliding action (190g force) so even young children will soon use it with ease.

Its low profile allows the hand to rest in a natural position so it is very comfortable to use. Moozi is also suitable for visually impaired users as it has tactile features that help with finding the right direction.

With its standard 9-pin D-connector, Moozi can be used to drive any wheelchair with a switch-type controller (such as the PGDT OMNI system).  It can also be used to control other kinds of multiple switch activated equipment (with similar voltage/current requirements and adaptors where necessary).

To use  the Moozi as a computer mouse,  you will need to purchase a USB adaptor. We  recommend our MERU PC Adaptor –  a small hardware interface that let you connect the Moozi to a computer.

Further Information

Moozi Knobs:

Moozi is available with a choice of 3 knobs and designed to suit a range of abilities and preferences.   They have all been thoroughly tried and tested over many years of use and are also suitable for most other wheelchair controllers.  They have stainless steel shafts and are fixed in place with a grub screw and allen key (supplied).

  • The Mushroom knob is a round knob equivalent to the balls typically found on wheelchair controllers.  However it has an additional rib as a tactile direction indicator. Its diameter is 3cm.
  • The T-bar is another familiar format but the MERU version has smooth, rounded contours and is particularly comfortable to grasp. Its length is 10cm.
  • The Cow horn bar has “horns” at the ends to help stop hands slipping off in case the user is unable to grip securely. Its length is 9cm (between horns).

All knobs are 30mm high (plus horns on the Cow Horn bar) and come in gunmetal grey.

A 2mm allen key (supplied) is required to secure knobs.

Moozi control knobs can also be bought separately and and are suitable for most other wheelchair controllers.

Moozi Assesment Kit:

This kit contains one Moozi base and all 3 control knobs which will offer a range of shapes to suit different needs.

Securing Moozi:

As long as a flat surface is available to put the Moozi on, no mounting brackets, spanners or fiddly screws are needed.

Moozi comes with Velcro™ for sticking to any flat surface. The control knobs are secured with a grub screw for maximum security.

Colours:

Colours available are red, blue or black Moozi top, all with a gunmetal grey base and gunmetal grey knobs.
